Features

No quality loss

PNG stores pixels exactly as decoded, so nothing is re-compressed or smeared on the way out.

Crisper text and edges

Lossless output keeps screenshots, scanned text, and thin lines sharp — where JPG artefacts show most.

Resize in the same step

Cap the width and get a smaller, lighter PNG without opening a separate tool.

Private by default

The conversion happens in your browser tab. Your photos are never uploaded.

What changes in the conversion?

JPG compresses with lossy maths and discards detail it thinks you will not notice. PNG stores every pixel, so the file is larger but visually identical to the JPG — and free of compression artefacts.

  • Lossless — no new artefacts added
  • Larger files than JPG
  • The right choice for text and screenshots

Will PNG make my photo look better?

Not sharper in the way more pixels would. It removes the blocky smearing JPG leaves behind, but it cannot restore detail the JPG already discarded. Recover that by going back to the original file.

  • Cleans up existing JPG artefacts
  • Adds no new detail
  • Pair with a resize for smaller files

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert JPG to PNG?

Add your JPG or JPEG files and click Convert to PNG. Optionally set a maximum width under Advanced settings to scale images down while converting.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?

It preserves quality rather than adding it. PNG is lossless, so no new compression artefacts appear — but detail that the JPG already discarded cannot be recovered. Start from the original whenever possible.

When should I use PNG instead of JPG?

Choose PNG for screenshots, scanned documents, logos, line art, and anything with small text or hard edges where JPG artefacts are visible. For ordinary photographs, JPG usually remains the smaller file.

Why is my PNG bigger than the JPG it came from?

PNG is lossless, so it keeps every pixel instead of approximating them. That costs file size. You can offset it by setting a maximum width under Advanced settings.

Can I convert many JPGs in one batch?

Yes. Drop in as many JPG or JPEG files as you need. Results keep their filenames with a .png extension and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

Never. Decoding and encoding run locally in your browser, so personal photos stay on your device.
