The preview redraws with every keystroke — no generate button, no waiting. Download the moment it looks right.
Your colors, still scannable
Code and background colors are yours to pick, with a high-contrast brand-ink default that every camera reads first try.
PNG for posts, SVG for print
PNG drops straight into socials and docs. SVG scales infinitely for posters, packaging, and business cards.
Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes — unlimited codes, no account, no watermark. Generation happens in your browser, so there are no server costs to pass on and no usage caps.
Is my link or text uploaded anywhere?
Never. The QR code is drawn locally by JavaScript on your device. Sensitive content — Wi-Fi passwords, internal links, personal messages — stays exactly where you typed it.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static codes: the pattern itself encodes your text, with no service in between that could switch it off. As long as the destination link works, the code works. Beware of "dynamic QR" subscriptions that route every scan through their servers — this is not one of those.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens — social posts, slides, email signatures. SVG for anything printed or resized: posters, stickers, packaging. SVG stays razor sharp at any size; PNG is the most compatible.
What does error correction do?
QR codes carry redundant data so they still scan when damaged or dirty. Low (~7% recovery) keeps the code small; High (~30%) makes it denser but survives scratches, creases, or a logo placed over the center. Medium is the right default for almost everything.
How much text fits in a QR code?
Up to about 2,900 characters at the lowest error-correction level — but scanners and people both struggle past a few hundred. Links, Wi-Fi configs, and short messages are the sweet spot.
